Did Obama win the battle and not the war?

The day finally came, after eight months of anxious debate, on whether it would be constitutional for the federal government to force citizens to participate in a mandated program such as ObamaCare or face a monetary fine/penalty!
Whether Chief Justice Roberts made his jaw dropping decision solely on the merits of legal precedence, or whether he played the game as a political grandstander, yet remains to be seen. One thing is certain – regardless of calling it a fine or a tax…you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig!
And could it be that Justice Roberts is actually smarter than what the outcome of this decision will render in the court of public opinion as he single handedly pushed this into law? It is my belief that he is dumb like a fox!
Summarily, for all the gloating and celebrating that the democrats are now reveling in, their nearsightedness will assuredly reveal their long-term predicament. This decision will, in my opinion, haunt and hound the democrats for months, and perhaps years, to come – this is now about a new tax?
In my opinion, Justice Roberts played the semantics game to perfection in labeling the fine…oops; excuse me – the “tax” – a TAX!
We have already exposed the self interest groups and policies that laid the political underpinning for this Affordable Care Act, entities such as AARP – having sold out its own senior members to this program because it stands to reap mega millions in selling medigap insurance!

And of course, the lobbying on Capitol Hill by Barry Rand, AARP president/CEO yet covering up the true objective – After an 18 month investigation, we find that AARP stands to reap an extra billion dollars in profits from ObamaCare. (Yes, that is billion with a B.) Worse, this extra profit is largely BECAUSE of the Medicare cuts.

For all the reasons that we “outsiders” can come up with, the supreme court saw fit to render this decision as constitutional and thereby calling it a tax and not a fine. One thing has been made very clear – and quite possibly the ammunition that republicans and all disenchanted citizens who opposed this need – Americans do not like taxes, especially new ones that are meant to cover up the real measure of the mandate!

President Obama said Thursday that his administration will proceed with implementation, saying “the highest court in the land has now spoken” and urging Republicans to “move forward.” He said he won’t “re-fight the political battles of two years ago.”
However, this commentator believes that he has no choice, and he will be engaged in at least one other battle (if not numerous battles) through sometime in November!
He may have won the battle…but assuredly I can say, the war is not over!
